For 2022, El Cajon is not offering a Schoolyard program. Kids born between 01/01/2018 and 12/31/2018 will play in our U6 divisions.

Our SchoolYard Program is for children 4 years old and is loved by everyone! The SchoolYard Program was developed with the assistance of child psychologists and US Soccer.  The objective of the program is to provide young players and their parents with a “pressure free” introduction to the beautiful and simple game of soccer.  At this age, players should be exposed to soccer by playing simple, fun activities and games that require little or no practice and a minimal time commitment.

Key Points

• No practices during the week
• SchoolYard sessions will be held every Saturday and end with a short 3v3 game
• Program starts the mid-August and ends on the last week in October
• Children are assigned to a team
• Children will play at Soccerfest before the Core Program season begins  
• A Master Coach will lead the SchoolYard sessions
• Each team will need two Parent Leads
